UNIAP: Where We Work

The United Nations Inter-Agency Project on Human Trafficking (UNIAP) works in six countries across the Greater Mekong Sub-Regoin (GMS): Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. UNIAP has a project office in each of the GMS country capitals, with a regional headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand.

UNIAP coordinates the policy and operational responses to human trafficking within the GMS, in collaboration with the GMS governments and civil society partners at both central and local levels.

With the changing trends in human trafficking in the GMS, this structure has allowed UNIAP to be responsive to the problems. UNIAP’s ability to liaise with both government and non-governmental organizations is what makes UNIAP unique in the world.
