Handover Ceremony of Paper-Based Resources on Human Trafficking
Over the last five years UNIAP Myanmar has worked towards gathering information on human trafficking and building up the knowledge base on the issue. Over 200 paper-based volumes (books, reports, research documents) have been collected by UNIAP over this period, covering various aspects of the issue. These resources were officially handed over to the UNIC on June 23, 2004 so that they could be accessible to the public. UNIAP Myanmar continues to collect more information and contribute to the collection.
As an active link between
government institutions, NGOs and the public, UNIC
serves to provide public information materials to
diverse local audiences. It has been operational in
Myanmar for over 45 years and has registered thousands
of regular users as an important source of information
of issues which are of concern to the UN and its
member states. View
